My company have just added passwords to our berrys
I cant seem to sync my berry to Windows Media Player
I've looked at memory settings and it says:

Mass Storage Mode Support: Off (+ little padlock)

Can my company disable mass storage mode?

Restrictive IT Policies are the reason people buy personal BlackBerry devices to go along with their company-issued devices. IT Policy restrictions, along with the loss of privacy, is why is it almost never a good idea to use your personal BlackBerry for the "convenience" of getting work emails.

IT depts can cripple a company - woah betide anyone that makes a personal call <at no cost> on company phone but called our IT dept before xmas to repair a PC and i'm still waiting

it's just a case of Lord IT can "play" God whilst sat on his *** - so he will

ours has restricted so many websites, many of which are essential for our business (it's just soooooo easy to block the whole world out) which caused barrage of complaints from staff and mass reinstatement of web access

DM refers to Desktop Manager, which you were probably using to sync your music.

And "sync[ing] my berry to Windows Media Player" is essential company business, right?

Get your own device if you want to use it for personal functions. Problem solved.

Last company got me a brand new car (several in fact) and you know what - it went right up to *my* house

Most employers nowadays expect 'their' work to become part of 'your' life - in which case they should be prepared to make 'their' work part of 'your' life - and tiny concession would be to let you use work mobile - dont cost them a red cent & ****! they might even be able to call you at home when they need you - that would be my personal company philosophy - i would make my workplace sooooo nice that my employees wouldn't want to go home

Though I agree with you, my company had a few issues with users keeping personal data on their devices and bogging down remote back up servers.

so instead of just limiting specific users who access the backup server they targeted everyone, and said no music, or media websites on work devices.
For a short while all personal pictures also were banned,
