I've had 7250 for a while now, but I'm going to be getting either a Curve or a Pearl today with Verizon's 2 for 1 deal.

At any rate, I know I need to get a memory card for it. The 8 gig Sandisk ones the store sells are either $60 or $70. On a quick search on this site, I found several cards for cheaper, even a 16 gig one for cheaper.

My question is, does the brand/type really make a big difference? What's your experience with yours? Can any memory card work for either of these phones?

If it is for sale directly from this site then you don't have anything to worry about. It's like buying something from your mom, you won't get ripped off. Unless your mom is shady.

I have a 8GB Sandisk. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with off brands but I have read where other people on this forum don't recommend going with an off brand. I have 2 movies and about 100 songs on my memory card and I am happy. I have a Curve so I know the memory card works- I do not know about the 7250. Good luck.

Whatever you get make sure it's a fast one, you need high transfer rates for a better experience with photos etc.

I've been thinking about this lately because I wasn't able to fit my old memory card from my sony erricson into my new berry, so how do I make sure I get the right card, aside from taking the current card out or asking a sales assistant who might not have a clue?

Make sure its a class 6 if you can get it. the factory ones are usually class 2 or so. :-)

How do I tell which class it is, is it written on the memory card itself?

^^Should be on the card itself, if it's a major brand (Kingston, SanDisk, etc...).

To the OP, you should be able to get an 8GB Kingston or SanDisk from BestBuy for $20 or less. Those are usually Class 4, so speed shouldn't be a problem.

Amazon has an 8 gig Class 4 card for $19

Hopefully class 4 is good enough, I just bought it...

Good call, Bigdaddy. It's easier to see a picture than to try to describe where it is.

i stay with Sandisk, Kingston, or Patriot, but as Patriot is usually the most expensive, with SD right behind it, i usually get kingston, and they have the nifty little USB drive for the sd cards.

Thanks all. I got the Curve, and I'm really liking it.

How high do the classes go? Up to 6?

I guess I'll look around online and go to Best Buy this weekend.

I don't think I'll use it for music, got my ipod for that, I just wanted it for pics, videos, and general storage of stuff so things didn't get deleted.
