I used to have a storm 2 but a few months ago I went over to the motorola droid. I do regret getting rid of my storm because it never gave me any problems and was a great phone. I am thinking about getting another blackberry as a back up phone and just to use something different. What would you recommend. I don't want to spend more than $100 so I am limited to what I can get. I seen the 8330, 8830, pearl flip and pearl in that price range. What is the best choice? I am using verizon wireless. Any advice would be great.

the 8830 is slower, and missing a lot of the media features (full size headphone jack for instance), but it IS a world phone.
The 8330 is the ever popular Curve. By all accounts, it's a good phone, although now lacking in memory, and if you get the 8330m, you can't put os5 on it, but if you get the 8330 (no M) than you can install the Boost Mobile os5.

The Pearl and Pearl flip are ok phones, if you like the form factors.

Out of the group listed, 8330 is the easy choice. It has 50% more memory than the others.

Oops, missed the Flip, which has decent memory but gets little love from themers. But it has more memory than the 8330. 128 MB vs 96.

If you just need a basic backup BB, I recommend a Pearl. They can be had for about $60, and they're not that bad. I had to use mine for a day when I borked my 8900 up with a bad update.

Now I haff fiev blick bury.

    Once bitten, I guess.
