    2 questions:

    (1) My roller ball is broken. Is there a way I can still check my text messages until I get it fixed?

    (2) Can an AT &T store fix my Blackberry even though my carrier is Verizon?

What kind of phone do you have? To check your messages without using the trackball is easy, just use the enter button. I doubt that AT&T would touch your phone if you got it from Verizon. Verizon replaces trackballs for free, so you may want to contact them. If you don't want to go that route, then you can buy a replacement trackball and fix it yourself.

Wow that's the first time I have seen someone call a trackball a rollerball.

AT&T will not touch your phone. They only deal with AT&T branded devices. Go to your local VZW (Verizon Wireless) store and see if they can help you. If not, purchasing a trackball and replacing it yourself is very easy.
