Just wondering what model the Crackberry community will be picking up, I'll be picking up the 9900 because I like the look of the keyboard and the screen but I could see why the 9790 could be preferred.

Another question, will both models be the same price or will the 9900 be the flagship model?

I have only known the 97xx series and absolutely love them. I was so looking forward to the 9900 and had my heart set on it, however, I feel somewhat conflicted now with the emergence of the 9790. I guess I need to wait and see what the 9900 looks like and how it feels in my hands. But the tempation is there to hold off for the 9790 if I can get the internals of the 9900 in the form factor of the 97xx that I have grown to know and love. I am on the fence........darn you RIM!!! lol

I don't believe the 9790 will be released. I may be wrong, but I don't see it happening because I saw the demo video for it months ago.

Plus, RIM themselves have said there will be seven new devices released;
9900 GSM
9930 CDMA
9850 GSM
9860 CDMA
9810 GSM - AT&T
9350 GSM
9360 CDMA

May not be 100% correct but those are the seven new devices.

Thanks for that information. Just out of interest, which handset do you think sounds better out if the 9900 and the 9790 and why?

I would prefer the 9900 because it has a much more sleek look with the chrome band and all-around overhauled look. Also, I don't know much about the specs of the 9790 but I can imagine it would be touchscreen and have all the same hardware as the 9900.

9860 or bust.. but will be getting the 9900 for **** and giggles.. the bigger screen vs the 97XX series will be better for browsing i assume.

PLus I'm used to my iphone 4 massive screen so i'm hoping the 9860 is as good as it looks.

Doesn't bother me, 9780, 9790 or 9900. Whichever hits wind mobile next year, i'll be on it. Or i'll have the 9780.

fyi as of now,the 9810 is no longer an exclusive to at&t.the 9810 is heading to rogers as well.also the 9360 is gsm and 9350 is cdma.

I was referring to American releases. I know I should probably acknowledge other countries, but I'm only thoroughly - for the most part - familiar with American telecom.
