but 9900 i heard that battery life is poor ps the hate the design of the device
i wish they make new 9780 same design but other hardware and without touch screen
    so
should i get 9780 or 9900 or stay with my 9700

I have a 9700 as well and my wife is using a 9550. We enjoy our phones but it is time for an upgrade.

In Canada we are subjected to 3 year contracts so when you choose your phone you must choose wisely. We could upgrade to the 9900 & 9860 but are holding out for BB10 as this phone will be worth the wait. The greatness of a BB phone mixed with the form and function of the PlayBook makes the wait worth while.

If you can, hold out for the new BB10 coming. You'll be glad you did.

for camera you might want to consider the 9860.

if you really like the 9700 then the 9790 is also a very good phone.

The camera winner is the 9860. If you like the look and feel of the 9700, get the new 9790.

The 9900 battery life is pretty good when you upgrade to latest .1.0.342

The camera has a lack of auto focus.

    That is my suggestion.

also: since the 9790 is the same form factor as the 9700; it should be using the same battery.

if you decide on the 9790 you will end up with a "free" spare battery.

Is the 9790 not available where you are? if it is I'd go with the 9790 if you're using the camera a lot. I have the phone and the camer is fine. From what I've heard the 9900's camera isn't the greatest with no auto focus.
If its not available there then I'd go with the 9900 just because of the better hardware in general though the camera isn't the best I think it would be a better trade off for updated hardware and software. I've heard with OS 7.1 the battery is better but I haven't used it so I can't say for sure.

Not true... 9790 uses the same battery as the 9900, not the 9700

If you take lots of close up shot, the 9900 EDOF camera would be a deal breaker. A torch slider maybe ???

If the camera is very important to you then i wouldnt suggest the 9900. I just take pics for fun and the lack of autofocus doesnt really bother me.

Do you really not like the touchscreen that much? Or is it the size of the 9900 that bothers you? If thats the case the 9790 would be a great device.

If you want to take pictures, don't mind the touchscreen, want something powerful, etc, I highly recommend the Torch 9860. Fantastic piece, I love mine. The camera is much better than the 9700's and 9900's.

My formers Blackberry Bolds were the 9700 and 9780, my current Bold is the 9900. For camera the 9780, for keyboard the 9900. An extra battery in pocket is a good idea for the 9900.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think you need to go with the 9790, it's probably everything you want lol

    OS 7, 5MP, 9780 design but sleeker
