    Hi Everyone!
I'm eligible for an upgrade on AT&T on January 26. Currently I have a Samsung Flight. In December I realized I was eligible for an upgrade soon, and began looking at the BlackBerries AT&T has to offer. I decided that I was going to upgrade to a Bold 9700 when I became eligible (I decided against the Torch because I don't like the slide-out keyboard design).

However, I checked again a few days ago and I found that the 9700 has been removed from the AT&T website and is not available for purchase anymore. I am not happy with my current phone, so I'm now leaning towards purchasing a used Bold 9000 and just waiting until AT&T releases the Bold 9780 or the Bold Dakota (which I know hasn't been announced yet) and upgrading then.

So here are my questions: When do you think a Bold replacement (either the 9780 or the Dakota) will be arriving on AT&T? I can wait maybe a few months, but I'm really getting sick of my current phone. Additionally, do you think I should buy a used Bold 9000 and wait? The other option would be just purchasing a used 9700 and not using the upgrade. Which option do you think would be the best?

Thanks in advance everyone! I hope this is the right area to post this!

9780 could happen any day now realistically. The Dakota is pretty much a guaranteed 2nd half of this year at the soonest. I would buy a used 9000 or 9700. Paying full price for an AT&T 9000 and resigning a contract to do so is NOT the smartest move, it's over 2 years old and can be had on eBay in great condition for less than $150.

Yeah agree 100% with ^ poster. Save upgrade and get used 9700 or wait for 9780...

i would def go used 9700 route. It is agreat phone with alot of OS flexibility. And if you do go 9780 you should be able to use most accessories from the 9700.

Honestly if you get a used 9700, should be able to hold you off till the Dakota comes out.

Not much difference besides some memory and 5mp camera from 9700 to 9780...

You can load many leaks of os6 on to your bold 9700. Using .424 os6 right now. They even have an official, which sucks though, lol!

9000 is sweet, but pretty slow on browsing on an ancient OS. You can go to os5 on it, but very minimal space for apps.

Love the 9000, but I think you would be better off with something more current.

With all that said, I am looking for a used 9000 to just add to my collection, lol!

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I think I'll go with purchasing a used 9700...now all I have to do is to find a good deal on Craigslist! I'll definitely look in to loading OS6 on it.

Thanks again! I look forward to becoming an active member of the Crackberry Community!
