I'm sorry I can't find any shift keys on my 8530 curve. But Alt-enter-h locks the keypad:^)

Shift is the button with the "aA" and an arrow pointing up (at least on the Tour). It's also the button you push to capitalize a letter.

Alternate method: go to Options->About

And also, the files/method I posted is for the Tour only. It is untested for any other Blackberry and probably will not work.
