In 2020, a giant asteroid collides with earth, killing everyone except Blaze and Tim Cook. Blaze kicks Tim Cook in the groin then pushes him and his 6.4" IPhone off a cliff. BlackBerry regains the top Smartphone title in the World.

Ok, maybe a little tongue in cheek.

I genuinely think the chances for Chen saving BB (the company) are better than even, though BB (the consumer handset producer) is most likely toast. If Chen successfully re-forms around the enterprise core, and retains enough of the business and goodwill necessary to re-build BB (the company) it'll be a noteworthy achievement... Tho' possibly not worth a CEO of the Decade accolade.

He'll definitely be much richer though.

I like the sound of this. Ok how about this. If blackberry stops making hardware. Can at least someone make a phone with their keyboards, centralized hub, and blinking notification light? That's all I'm asking.
    Lol love it.

I would say that odds are against BlackBerry having any consumer devices on the market in 2020, but I could see them offer some sort of hardware to enterprise customers. This would probably only work out if there really is some niche that is profitable enough to be sustainable, yet not so profitable that the bigger fish come to steal it away.

By 2020, BB will be a relatively successful company providing enterprise software and services. They'll be providers of a small range of physical keyboarded handsets to support that market. They'll have exited the consumer handset market completely. BB will be fighting various attempts by other companies (Samsung, Microsoft) to buy their enterprise business. Chen will be extremely wealthy and lauded as CEO of the Decade.
Most of this sounds like 2015 rather than 2020.

At this point I think I'm waiting for a physical keyboard bb because of nostaglia. I figure by 2020 it will be 99% touchscreen phones. Or is it already ? Will the keyboard on a smartphone ever die completely? I did see those new phones on the recent episodes of parks and rec. if that's the future then the classic looks ancient. Ouch.

Kim kardashian buys multiple blackberry 9900s on eBay because she is worried they will no longer be available. Not next year or maybe the year after. But soon I don't think bb handsets will be on the market. I guess enjoy this era while it lasts.

My prediction is that in 5 years, Blackberry will exist in the form of QNX as a subsidiary of Apple.

According to a Wall Street Journal report Friday, also citing unnamed sources, Apple has several hundred employees working on a project code-named Titan, which may be focused on a battery-powered minivan. If this were true, going from idea stage to Apple Cars on the road would require years of testing and regulatory hurdles.
