I apologize in advance if this topic has already been addressed. I am ready to replace my 7130 but it has one feature that I really need: NO CAMERA. My profession requires me to visit government facilities. A visitor may bring his or her phone as long as it does not have any recording ability. I contacted RIM and asked if a Bold or Storm would be produced without a camera. RIM employees, while polite and sympathetic, could not provide any information. Does anyone have any news?

I have the 8830 on Verizon, CDMA equivalent to the 8820 I would imagine. It really is a great phone. No camera, no big deal.

It does have audio recording capabilities though, so I am not sure if that will work for you.

I feel your pain. I too work at a gov site with a strict NO CAMERA policy. My world works just fine.
