BlackBerry With A Swivel Camera

I don't know about u guys but I have been a phone fanatic since before the Razor was hot. I feature I loved was on the Samsung A900 "the Blade" also known as the RaZor killer. . It had a swivel camera and never need 2 cameras. I think a swivel camera on top of a BlackBerry would be great. There are many advantages 1 being cost effective "really important " to making the phone and for the end user it would be easier to lay the phone down and turn the camera @ the correct angle to take the picture.

Are you willing to pay extra for it? And it makes things easier to break. Not a good idea. Moving parts are generally not a good idea on a smartphone.

Pay extra? Again it's 1 camera instead of 2 it would be cost effective. But I c ur point of moving parts

Serious question:

How easy is that to scratch?
For me, phone cameras always need to sit in a recess deeper than the body, so no scratching...

The camera can be tucked facing into the body so its not exposed so that shouldn't be a problem. Swiveling it out also turns on the camera software so thats a nice touch. Still not a feature most would look for in deciding a phone tho.

Still, pocket lint, sand and other dirt will give it a hard time. I just don't like how that fish-eye looks. Too scratchable...

That's probably when Sapphire Glass will have its prime-time...

I'm still not seeing the cost effective argument. You're adding in an additional piece that needs to be tooled and installed as opposed to a single frame body. The tooling costs alone are higher and the wear on the swivel will eventually loosen the camera component. I'm just not seeing a use case for this.
