I am hoping that I have posted this in the right place. We are looking at going into the refurbished phone business and noticed that there are several people on ebay and such who are selling phones that used to be on various carriers. Who is the main source of these phones?
Well I'm not sure if this is the right answer. These phones all are distributed and manufactured by RIM. Once the phone is manufactured then they are given to various carriers around the world. The phones given to carriers are locked to the carrier and you can only use their service.... e.g. My BB is locked to Verizon Wireless. You can unlock phones for other carriers but sometimes that can be risky....
