I'm sure that I'm not the first to think of this; however, why doesn't blackberry just allow users to use Google play and implement that into its system. Still have the BB10 experience and allow apps from Google play to run through android runtime that it has.
Wouldn't that answer the "app problem"?
    Can that work?

It would be like having two app eco systems.

I'm not a app developer so excuse my lack of knowledge, but isn't it an open source?

Android is open source yes. Google play is Google's app store. Why would they want to give that away to the competition?

So then side loading apps shouldn't be allowed.

Again im just trying to understand why it couldn't run with the Android runtime?

If Google were to give it access, say blackberry pays them or something, could it then be done?

Not necessarily if it runs separately like the Android runtime.

Google play is a ****show, half the apps are buggy or duplicates.

BlackBerry would never let the ecosystems mix.

In order to use google play and other such things you must sign an agreement with google regarding corporate philosophy and such. Open source does not mean anyone can use it, their are still licenses involved and legal obligations...

As to sideloafding, officially it is not supported but rather there for developers to test their aps when porting. By rights it could be challenged in court.

BlackBerry has to be able to perform a security screening test to keep the malicious apps out. Google Play is full of them and I don't believe Google would allow it on BB10 unless BlackBerry was Android.
