I have an 8300 and when I play ringtones downloaded from this site on my media player they sound great. When I set the tone as my phone tune, it is very soft and not loud at all when someone calls. Is there anyway to fix this?
Well more-so the 8830 is notorious for having low sound for ringtones etc. The only option you have is to find louder MP3 tones to use as alerts, ringtone etc. There really is no solution for the problem. I hated it when I had my 8830 - could never hear a single alert.
If you do a quick search of the forums for "mp3gain" you should come up with a couple of recent threads, one of which contains a link to the preloaded ringtones. You can make these louder and then load them as custom ringtones.
I think it's pathetic that a company such as RIM creates an entire product line of "push" devices, only to have them crippled by the last link in the chain - user notification.
