Yes, I know you can have lots of apps, so can my 9700, my question was how many can you have running in the background before it lags.

My only experience with android is a friend htc tattoo which seems worse then blackberry at managing memory.

NEVER had a lag yet on android and ran as many as I wished, like I said the blackberry would lag with just one app running
The browers itself lags like ****.

I Don't think so. I think it just looks less eye appealing and has a slower web browser. The multitasking and notification integration is un-matched on any other device. But... You make the call. Let me know what you think.

In What ways is it outdated?

    YES!

    Slow CPUs
    Low amounts of RAM.
Camera is not of the IPhone std.
    Lacking applications
    Quality is suffering

In What ways is it ahead of the game?
It's not in anyway shape or form.

I really dont understand blackberry bashing threads. As a consumer you are given the option to either use it or, get this, NOT use it, if you dont like it.

Yes I understand criticism is a good was to let RIM know what to fix in upcoming devices but I rarely visit CB anymore because of every thread being about how bad blackberry is. I now use the iphone 4 but i think blackberry is a very viable device.
Why blame us? Maybe RIM is the reason for so many unhappy
soon to be "X" BB owners?

You and RIM need to raise your standards some.

**** they use slow chip sets that we passed by 10 years ago!
