Before what's all over?
Probably your battery life with this vibrating touch screen technology.
:D
Guaranteed. Even if it's a small amount of current used for each keystroke.
My gosh where do people come up with these posts?? I just can't beleive it. No explanation, empty info and of no value to anyone but the OP IMO.
no, qwerty isn't going anywhere anytime soon... even with that tech on the horizon.
I hope it can spell :D
Haptics are not exactly the greatest thing since sliced bre...well, since a qwerty keyboard...rofl
The concept is pretty cool...you get the "feel" of depressing the keys. The problem is that our battery technology isn't up to dealing with this plus everything else. However let's say it, in effect, only reduces your battery life but a total of 15 minutes. If the first of the new BBX phones had the "feel" of a real keyboard on an all touch screen, that would be something no other phone had.
I don't think we have to worry about it yet. When and if it can be proven to be consistent without killing a device or in any other way negatively affecting a device's performance, then I can see it happening. In the mean time, I'll stick with my trusty 9810 and my slide out qwerty keyboard.;)
One of the selling points of the Storm was the feedback when pressing "buttons"....QWERTY seems to have survived.
That was my thought. Hey, they reinvented the Storm!
Good luck with that.
A Better Battery? The Lithium Ion Cell Gets Supercharged: Scientific American. . .Battery problem solved???
It would be nice to see "Research" In Motions actually coming up with this stuff. . .I'm kinda getting tired of playing tech catch up. . . Admit it. . .It would be nice to see RIM being the first ones out of the gate with a touch screen that felt like a real QWERTY powered with a super battery! (the makings of a game changer???)
That's exactly what RIM needs. . .something new. .anything new. . .or it's over!
