I have a storm 1, and when I plug it into my computer, it looks like this:

But when i plug in my bold 9700, i just get a memory card launch, and thats it.

I understand that the storm has 1 gb storage for media, and the bold only has 256 mb right? But why can't I view the bold's 256 mb like i can on the storm?

    Thanks!

The Bold 9700 also has 1GB memory, but not the memory you where talking about.

The 9700 has 256 RAM, that's for the OS and apps to 'play' on.

    HM?

I'm talking about internal storage, not RAM.

I know the 9700 has 256 mb RAM, but doesn't it also have 256 storage?

The storm has 1 gb storage, but only 128 RAM.

I'm wondering why I can access the storm storage but not the bold.

No, the 9700 has 1GB of internal memory. It's beyond me why they behave different on your computer.

For what it's worth, I've never been able to access the internal memory via "normal" methods such as explorer on a computer with either an 8330 or 9630.

On my 8330 it's Menu/Options/Memory. Enable Mass Storage Mode. You do have a Media card don't you?

That doesn't give you access to the internal memory though, does it, just the media card? That is weird how the storm evidently allows both internal memory and media card to be read by the computer openly like that...

No it does not give access to internal memory on a curve. Wow, didn't know that about the storm sandman. But I'm wondering if the device memory is indeed available on a storm it might work, I dunno? That would be a nice feature.

I think on the 9700 you can only access the 256mb internal storage through desktop manager. On other phones, the internal storage would mount as a separate drive on your PC.
