Does anyone know is any US Carrier will havve the Passport? I'm using a Q10 with Verizon (the best signal and support) and I was wondering if they will continue supporting new phones.

The Passport will work on US carriers. Whether they'll carry it or not remains to be seen. There haven't been any official announcements either way.

No official announcements yet, but when I asked customer service with AT&T the lady told me yes they will carry it without hesitation. Not sure about Verizon though...

Seems like we'd have official word by now either that means carriers haven't made up their minds yet or the Passport is going to be delayed for the States.

I am a mobile novice, but through some research and deduction, it seems like Verizon will carry the passport.

the FCC filing for passport does not list CDMA, but lists LTE band 4, and 13. (4 verizon uses, and 13 it has been rapidly building up for the past 2 years).
    according to fcc
    FCC ID L6ARGY180LW Mobile phone with GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900, WCDMA/HSPA FDD 2, 4, 5, LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 13, 17, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC, FM Radio and GPS. BlackBerry Limited (ID Label/Location Info)

last week (aug 26th) Verizon announced that in the "coming weeks" it plans to roll out VoLTE which would ditch CDMA to carry HD quality voice on the LTE 13 (700 Mgz) band.

I can only assume that this means that they plan to introduce VoLTE along with the Passport, which is also launching in the "coming weeks".

Again, im not sure on this. Just my speculation. if true, great news. theoretically it means if a phone has LTE 13 band on it, we will be able to use it on verizon regardless of CDMA present on it or not. i say theoretically as i dont know what restrictions they might put on it at VoLTE launch.

hope this gives assurance to verizon users like me, Or i might be completely Wrong.. lol

I can't see any reason verizon wouldn't support the passport.

Rolling out VoLTE doesn't mean there's even a chance they'll carry a VoLTE only Passport. They would still need CDMA bands to fall back on in areas where VoLTE is weak or non-existent.

In 2016 they are going to be launching phones without CDMA chipsets. Their plan originally was 2014, but they pushed it back by two years. That should be enough time for them to deploy 600 MHz networks (in addition to the existing b4 and b13 networks,) and even refarm some CDMA spectrum.

But given the timing of the Passport release (2014...hopefully,) the RGY181LW is not going to be carried by Verizon.

We won't know if any US carriers will carry the Passport until the device is officially announced on the 24th of September. Unless one of them slips up and confirms it before hand.

It could be a wait and see attitude. Or they have enough subscribers hounding them to carry.

I spoke to a couple of Verizon reps today, and all of them stated that not only hadn't they even heard of the Passport, but there was nothing in their pipeline (HR) for training.I did show all of them a number of pictures, including the white version and they were all impressed but.....

    Little concerning....

Then again customer service at the stores don't know a thing about BlackBerry, if anything they would tell that it doesn't exist any longer. I'm pretty sure you can get it unlocked from shopblackberry.com just in case they don't. It's worth the security nowadays.

BlackBerry should save us all the drama and make the Passport immediately available via Shop BlackBerry on 9/24/14.

I highly doubt that will happen though.
