Not possible. It has to be done through the desktop manager. The file is way too big to just wipe out what's on your phone right now and to re-install the new one.

It's a relaltively easy process with desktop manager. I've updated my OS about four times. Most recently yesterday. Works like a charm when you use the directions given to you in the OS update threads.

OS 4.5 was *supposedly* supposed to support OTA on the OS, but hasn't happened yet.

Yes I've done it on other PCs, however my usb ports are not currently working.

Only the storm does ota updates and only for official releases not betas. Maybe one day it will all be ota.
