Has anyone else ever wondered if a BlackBerry OS PC would ever exist? Apple makes Macs and a phone, Microsoft has Windows and Windows-based smartphones. Do you think RIM would ever try it out?

Oh man, I hope not. I'd HATE trying to send an e-mail out and have to hit Menu... Arrow... Compose New Message... select the name... write message... Menu.... Send Message.

But the trackball on it would be sweet.

Why do I get the feeling that a RIM Desktop OS would be like DOS.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But I would bet it would be very plain, but extremely useful.
But having to unplug your computer to simulate a battery pull would get old (*snicker)

Not quite yet. The site states,

"REDFLY currently supports Windows Mobile phones only. Support for BlackBerry and Android devices is coming in the near future. "

This is a very interesting idea though...

Thanks for the link, more gadgets to drool over. Just what I need.

Spoke with a Verizon data guy about this, they are working with them on the product. Not sure it will be worth the cost to me, BUT I love the concept.

    I agree.

However it contradicts the reason I went with BlackBerry in the first place, which was to simplify my life and reduce the number of devices I use.
