I was on BB site and found info on BB 4.6.

I am with T-Mobile and they are still on 4.2.2.180 but I have upgraded to 4.5.0.81.

4.6 looks like it is going to have some nice features.

Has anyone heard of a potential release date?

Also, how often does BB release a new OS or an update?

4.6 is only for newer devices. Other inside info has stated that older devices such as 83xx, 81xx, 88xx, will not be getting an update to 4.6.

The bold already ships with 4.6.

^ the bold is not an 81xx, 83xx, or 88xx. I think those are the devices in question for 4.6. And I'd currently have to agree. While 4.5 has been a great upgrade for my pearl, I think a phone upgrade will be required for 4.6. Such as the bold, jav, or kickstart. (or storm is you want 4.7!)

I didn't ask, Bronx asked. And from the fact that they are on tmo with 4.5.0.81 they either have a curve or pearl. And since tmo doesn't have another BlackBerry till the 8220 I figured I'd leave the bold out. The 4.6 lineup will begin with the bold, 8220 flip, and the 8900 curve.

All devices 8700+ are slated to get up to at least a 5.0 revision at some point, although the 8700 will be watered down version as the device cannot handle some of the features, but like anything else...this could change.
