I have a 8830 from Verizon wireless that I bought with the intent to travel with it. To this point, I couldn't be happier with the convenience this phone has offered me even in the third world countries I often visit.

However, I am taking a year to teach english in thailand and am saddened by the thought of possibly not having my bb. The cost of using Verizons abroad service makes me sick to m syyomach so is out od the question. Since the company is to stubborn to unlock my phone for me... I am going to be forced to give up my phone. That is of course unless one of you fine folks. Have an alternative.

Anyhow, the real reason for my post is to figure out alternate forms of acces, or forwarding of my @vzw.blackberry.net act. Most of my family and friends have this email address simply for its speed of delivery and I need to be able to access that abroad. Any suggestions?

Lastly, love the crackberry site and its community. Been a long time looker but only registered and posted for the first time today.

They cannot stop you from unlocking your phone. It is YOUR phone, not theirs.

Dump them and go with AT&T.

Set up a dummy Gmail address, then add your @blackberry.net email address under Send Mail As: in the Settings section. Verify the address on your blackberry and...voila! You now have POP/IMAP access your blackberry email.
