Blackberry Marketing
Why is RIM not marketing what people want? Time to step it up, IMO they should be marketing the out of the Curve 9380 and the Torch 9810 as well as the 9900.
9 out of ten people I know don't have a clue that BB is making an all touch curve, and the latest trends the last 5 years is all touch.
When is Thorston hiring that marketing director???

The 9810 is an excellent phone. Everything is really good on it.
IMO internet browsing on the 9800 was too slow on 3G.
But on the 3G+ 9810 it's excellent...wait a few seconds for the page to load and then pinch-to-zoom is lag-free and smooth
RIM's marketing checklist definitely needs to include properly trained salespeople in carrier stores.

It may be hard to market phones on an OS that the Gen Pop knows you're moving away from in a few months...
They should try to focus on their Brand as opposed to any specific product other than the Playbook...

I think many people want the 'basics' to be very strong and don't need the bling features that eat data plans
Phoning, emailing, texting, BBM, web browsing, reliable security, playing music, watching videos, taking pictures, etc are all very strong features on current OS7 phones.
They should focus on the brand. Consumer confidence in the brand will help to sell more OS7 phones when BB10 is on the horizon :)

RIM is most likely saving all of its marketing efforts for the BB10 lineup. They've made it pretty clear that selling OS7 is not their top priority.

I don't know much about marketing, but thing is sure, for young people, its not marketing but rather providing what we want. We want faster access to Internet without the use of the stone age BIS. Push emails are great. But RIM should develop their OS so we can by pass BIS when using the web.
How about apps? Why not make a phone that can run Android applications? This way I don't have to worry about the App World selection.
