Got an email saying RIM is no longer pursuing consumer input through BlackBerry Opinions. Is this the proverbial writing on the wall?

Or, possibly, they have all the input needed. At some point you have to stop asking questions and start making decisions.

    The email:

We have a special thanks and an important announcement to share.

We want to sincerely thank you for all of the insight you have provided us as a member of BlackBerry Opinions. We have learned a great deal from you and are so impressed by your dedication to help make RIM an even better brand and company.

Our direction for the future is changing and as such, we are shutting down the BlackBerry Opinions Panel.

We’ve made the difficult decision to end this edition of BlackBerry Opinons as of March 23rd, 2012 at 3:00 pm Eastern (noon Pacific time). All good things must come to an end, and this is true for our community here as well.

Please understand the decision to end the panel is strictly a business one, and in no way reflects on the amazing insights you’ve given us. After thoroughly assessing the situation, including revisiting our goals and information needs, we decided we needed to take a step back. It is also standard practice for research communities to end after a certain amount of time in order to get fresh perspectives, and to give us the chance to learn from the lessons we’ve learned about panel management.

If you’d like to share some final thoughts before the panel closes, please CLICK HERE.

Thank you again for all of your time and dedication.

    Warmest Regards,
    The BlackBerry Opinions Team

Actually, now that I think about it, the Opinion Panel was mostly about software...hmmm yeah I'd probably buy a BlackDroid
