Are you sure that you didn't want to say more?

What about all the apps that provide communication that BlackBerry doesn't have?

Toolsnottoys, huh? How's that working out for Blackberry?
He didn't say ALL communication.

Gee, we haven't heard this in at least a week!
That hasn't been used in almost 3 years. Give it up already.

So is Morse Code, Ham radio, ticker tape machines, dial-up modems, POTS phone lines, and lots of other fairly obscure or obsolete items. What, exactly, is your point?
A smartphone that doesn't have apps isn't very smart, and not very different from a flip phone.
Get those apps off my lawn!!
This is a good point.
Anyway, what I was trying to say is that there's a lot of people not interested in apps but in communicating per se...
Me too. That said I find all I need on my BlackBerry, not interested in Snapchat, here in Italy nearly nobody uses it...
Can you please list communication apps not supported on BlackBerry or Android runtime?

I'd like to announce that my Ford Escape is made for transportation. Thank you.
All kidding aside, glad your BB works for you.
Ironic since BlackBerry the Company can't even communicate the BB10 message to consumers
Ouch! (Good one though)
"It's for communication, not for apps" amounts to the same thing, pretty much.
Most people use smartphones for a lot more than communication, these days. Payments, banking, restaurant ordering, podcasts, music, navigation, home automation and security, summoning ridesharing services, etc. etc. etc. For most people in the world, it's their main computing device.
I agree, though, that BlackBerry is made for communication.
Can you quantify "a lot"?
Or are we just shooting the breeze again?
Here we go again.

Pretty much any app provides communication, whether it is the news, sports, or a friend through a social messenger. I am not going to start listing apps. If everyone was like you, then BlackBerry would be number one.

About 800,000 people per quarter, it seems.
How are many of those you mention not some form of communication? And communicating vital information at that?
Jules..
Couldn't have said it better bud! #BB10fanactic.

Sadly it's true. Such a wonderful thing BB10 has been and they did it no justice :(

That was for the last quarter.
By dead reckoning, the next quarter should be in the neighbourhood of 500,000.
Sounds like sour grapes to me.
BB10 was intended to be an app platform, but things didn't turn out that way.
Even before its release BlackBerry recognized that a thriving native app ecosystem was a long shot, so they punted with the android runtime.
BB10 was designed for communication and apps.
The apps just didn't work out.
This thread looked like bait but, oh well.
Thank you i7 processor for only wasting 3secs of my life
