I saw something today for the first time. A BB Kiosk, wondering if anyone else has seen one. This perticular Kiosk is new and looks permanent. It wasn't their a week ago.
Seen at Central festival, Pattaya, Thailand. 4th flour.
I like the idea, I've often thought they should get out more. I liked the idea of the past, where they opened up temporary kiosks and hit high trafic area's. If you have educated sales staff, BB is an easy sell. Anyone think more of this is required. Could it help in the US.

love the fact that its a walk around/threw kiosk. you get more people wanting to interact this way. gives it a more opening welcoming feeling as well. the design is very sleek and looks very crisp. i think it would help in the States as long as there are proper people CSRs pitching the product. its the people in the kiosk that is what really sells the product. the stands draws the attention and the reps seal the deal.

Dallas Fort Worth airport (the last time I went through there) had a BB charging kiosk...just a small telephone booth they converted and dressed up. Had several plug in areas for wall chargers. I had to excuse some iPhone ***** away from it, convincing them that it wouldn't work with there apple products...enough said...

the Bold was charged while I waited, and I had entertainment for the rest of my trip....

Dallas, Atlanta and I think Minneapolis all have BB stores in the airports. Probably some more places but those are all off the top me head.

RIM is going all in in Asia. They are just going through the motions in the US to try and make investors think they are doing something like this New Years Eve late marketing campaign.

So not to over state it but, I know a few posters here on CB that would sell a SL/bunch of probuct out of one of those. Im I wrong..
Edit: If RIM let individuals run something similar in NA. True users of the product. people would sell the out of it.

The competition is set up clearly, I believe RIM is a product or two short of more full time stores but the right people in charge of BB lifestyles stores, like the ones starting to pop up, Bangkok, India, Indonesia. Where they showcase phones and tablets bridged or PBs connected to the big screen, viewing content or playing games could be a bigger success.

That is interesting, does anyone know if RIM is running these directly, or contracted to a third party?

I hope RIM incorporates these into their alleged marketing push. BlackBerry can get lost in the sea of phones at the carrier stores and if the reps aren't pushing them and nobody has seen an ad from them, they won't be on people's minds. This kind of kiosk would put them back there.

Every mall/shop in India has had these for the past year or two.

    They are mostly crowded.

RIM needs to use some of its marketing money to put this kind of thing in North American cities - Ex. the popular malls, events

Consumers need to try BB products and talk with product specialists. Carrier stores are a bitter ignorant joke

One in ten carrier stores will have a working Bold 9900 on display. Nine in ten carrier stores will have a working iPhone on display.

    I have yet to try a working 9810. In one BestBuy I thought I was trying a 9810 but it was actually a 9800 labelled as a 9810 - they didn't have a 9810 dummy phone

I wish we could have these in America, but they'd probably be at best rarely frequented and and worst vandalized by immature folks who believe your cell phone makes you a better or worse person.
