I want to change the silver housing on my 8830 to black. I'm looking on ebay and I see those dummy display phones. If I buy one of those would I be able to use those parts or will it not work because its a dummy phone?

If you are competent with a Torx T4 (if you don't have one, you can get one for $4 at Home Depot) see if you can find OEM cases on eBay or at local phone dealers (or the sites mentioned above). It's like six screws for the casing, just be careful and take your time (I haven't done a BB myself but I've replaced the housing on tons of other phones/PDAs and I've seen people take apart BB housings in front of me).

Colorware is NICE (and they do a great job), but they are really expensive and you've gotta be without your device while they paint it.
