Apple refuses to do anything "STANDARD" - remember their whole "THINK DIFFERENT" mantra??

I think that whole "THINK DIFFERENT" ideology is ironic considering the iPod and the iPhone have become such symbols of CONFORMITY!!

"Think Different... Buy an iPod, iPad and iPhone just like everybody else!!"

EDIT TO CORRECT BAD SPELLING... Said spelling has been punished for it's behavior, and is in timeout!
You're right, what was I thinking, Apple.. Standards.. brain fart on my end.

I've been running Blackberries since the beginning, of all the bluetooth enable units, Pearl, Curve 8310, Flip 8220, Curve 8900 and now Bold 9700, I've never had issues with Bluetooth.

Why then is it necessary for yet another step to "receive file using bluetooth"?
Take a little time and read up on Bluetooth hacking. There are tools out there that can, and will crack through and put files onto your BT device without being paired, without being prompted.... (See the one I linked to earlier in this thread)

It is a valid security measure. Maybe you don't understand why, and that's OK, but it is a valid threat.

Perhaps RIM should put the "Always available" option on the BT settings to make some people happy, but I would never use it. I have photo's of my family members, Word Docs with important info, contact info... all kinds of PERSONAL info that, with that option enabled, allows HACKERS to access.

It's what called a "back door" threat. Once they get that one little crack, they can then use it to PULL files from your device just as easy. Remember Several celebrities have had their personal pic's lifted and stolen from their phones and posted??? They used this same security hole to get them.

Best bluetooth of any device! It can be nerve wrecking if you haven't read the instructions.
