I've been able to download and play MP3 files from emails. It may play wave files as well. I haven't tried wave files yet. If I choose to open the MP3 file as an attachment it streams the file. When doing so, I'm unable to fast forward or rewind. I instead choose to save it to my SDcard, then open it from there with full control. I haven't had a lot of luck opening or downloading MP3 files from the BlackBerry message box. I instead log into my email account using the BlackBerry browser or OpraMini. OS 4.5 is required in order to download attachments to your SDcard.
