Is there a way to make your Blackberry device check your email box more often? In other words, to scan your inbox every 5 minutes instead for every 30 minutes? I hope this question is not confusing.

Nope. There's no way to change the frequency of the email push on a BlackBerry.

Email will be pushed nearly instantly for some email types (Yahoo, GMail, AOL and a handful of others).

For POP3 email, email is pushed to the BlackBerry device at between 3 and 15 minutes.
