Would there be any valid reason to not use my vzw.blackberry.net email address as my BlackBerry ID?

Well if you change carriers your bb email would also change and you would have no more access to the old email.

Just one, if you were to change service providers you would lose the vzw.blackberry.net email and then all your updates from blackberry App World etc won't reach you.

I don't think it matters what email you use for the BlackBerry ID because at a later date you can log into the Blackberry ID web site with this email from a PC and change your email, even if that original email had become disabled. When this change is made the new email propagates to your devices, such as the PlayBook.

^Exactly. I've been using my Sprint/BlackBerry email for a lot of things for a few years now.

Frankly, it is much better to use your BlackBerry email as BlackBerry ID. I mean, if you decide to ditch your BlackBerry, you have one less loose end to tie up (that is, nothing BlackBerry related will end up in your email)
