i have a contract on a nokia n97 phone and wanted to put my sim in a unlocked pay as you go blackberry, and i hear that i can only use blackberry messenger if i had THE blackberry data plan. i was now wondering if anyone knows whether my company would allow me to buy the blackberry data plan as they think i have a nokia N97? and whether it is possible to buy the blackberry data plan as an add on without being on a blackberry contract? thanks

What is your wireless company? Do they offer a BlackBerry?

Your wireless company is named "3"?

If they offer BlackBerries, then you should be able to switch your data plan over to the BlackBerry Internet Service plan. It should be simple to do by calling your carrier's customer service line, let them know you purchased a BlackBerry outright, and that you would like to switch over to the BIS data plan, they should be able to get you squared away from there.
