i was looking for internet without a data plan and i found this page

    http: //bb. anworm. com/enable-blackberry-browser-without-bisbes-2/

i havent tried because its a bit confusing for me since im new in this bb thing but if someone its interested and try it can you leave a comment or something and if this can be used with the bb messenger ... there are pictures showing the OTA downloads and i think you cant do that without a data plan

this link also shows how to enable push mail without data plan, i dont know if its true

    Interesting post.
I don't know if it will allow you to have all BIS/BES functions without a data plan but it teaches us how to backup service books.

I use the BB browser (and have internet) without a data plan. I didn't follow these steps, but my SIM had a valid T-Mobile TCP/IP service book, so once inserted into my new Bold 9700, I had internet on it. Not any BIS functionality- no Visual Voice Mail, no running the native instant messaging apps (neither of which I care about). But the browser works fine, and all my 3rd party apps.
