For a Blackberry 8900, if my parent company in Europe (I am in the US) has a Blackberry Exchange server, obviously to get my company email from that I need BES instead of BIS. However, for other email I have here as well in the states through a regular ISP, will I still be able to get that email (BIS type) by having BES or what?

you should be able to get your personal e-mail on a device attached to BES. One caveat though is that once you're connected to BES, your company's IT dept controls every aspect of your device.
Not sure if they can read your personal e-mails but someone else should be able to chime in more...
Yes it depends on the companies IT policy they make block sending and receiving other emails. They also control all of you device remotely wipe it to disable any feature. Talk with your IT dept before you try anything it could mean your job.
