Some sad news ... as of version 0.83, Palringo no longer offers an advanced connection tab to enable WiFi connectivity.

Hopefully, this is an interim release, and it will be re-established soon.

The EQO IM client works on wi-fi without a data plan. It is actually pretty good and free. It's like beejive but not as good--multi-client, multi-chat. Just make sure you go into settings and use TCP to get your buddy list. However, I am having issues using it. It seems to duplicate your buddies. An example, I IM someone, which uses one window. When they reply it opens window #2. Your buddy list will duplicate that buddy. Deleting one will delete it off your actual buddy list so be careful. You can only send messages on window #1 and incoming messages will be on window #2. I don't know how to fix the problem. I only did it with one of my own screen names I used through my laptop. Hopefully someone has a fix.

is it possible to attach files to an email while using wifi only?? Because photobucket, myspace and other sites have the "send to this email & we'll upload thing" but i can't send images anyone know a way around that, other than getting a data plan?

is it something real easy that is just staring at me in the face

    thanks in advance!

i first thought palringo was really nice.... but Instango beats it by far... not sure why... maybe it's the interface, plus i get to see my friends' avatar... though it still has some scrolling bugs that may bother you... but hey, they're working on it =)

I don't know what to do for international but it requires a Location I'd, so I put a zip code and it gets info for that zip code. I don't know what goes in place of a zip code internationally. Give it a try. As for celsius, set the units ro "metric" when adding or editing a new location.

BBweather is a pretty awesome application. It works perfectly with Wifi. I have a link to check your location ID. I can't post links though because I have less than 10 posts. It's located in another forum. Google "blackberry location id" and it's the top link. Go there and scroll and you will find a link to a website that fetches your location ID. In the meantime I need to start posting more so I can post links hehe.

Or you can go to weather dot com and search for your city. The location ID is located in the URL right after "../local/".

    Confirmed:

MidpSSH works over Wifi. The custom build is modified to work with wifi. Google it because I can't post links yet.
It's perfect for remote login into servers. Now I can login into my school computer labs and work with Matlab! Now I can find laplace transforms and solutions to DE's on the go! Amazing! I'm officially an addict.

In BBWeather itself, you can just type in your city where it says "Location ID" and then select "Lookup Location ID" from the menu.

Istango is def recommended. I log onto icq after not doing so in almost 5 years (don't ask how I remembered my number) but it was awesome to see people still online from back then
