BB10's last update supposedly is OS 10.3.5 and then BB10 gets EOS by 2018. No more new BB10 phones (if that wasn't already apparent)

BlackBerry has only committed to 10.3.4 later this year. I don't think we'll see anything after that.

    Enjoy what you have now.

10.3.3 and 10.3.4 are just security updates directed to corporate and government users anyway.

Actually, they long ago pushed 10.3.4 into 2017. Heck, at this rate, they might not have 10.3.3 out by "later this year."

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Don't agree with it though. Without their own OS. BlackBerry is as good as dead. I will enjoy BB10 as long as possible though.

    Long Live BB10!

What was the last device - classic? By 2017 it will be three years old, ancient in smartphones terms even if wasn't part of a failed OS - even corporate will have cycled most out by then.

The specs on the Classic were also years behind when it got released. It's basically the same internals as the Z10 and was released two years after. Most also thought the Z10 specs were behind when it was first released as well.

I have to ask this question, why does this worry you? First off 2018 is a long way away, two if you enjoy your phone then who cares. These rumors do nothing but spread miss information about a possible maybe. At this rate people should hide in their basements why you may ask, because you could get hit wth an asteroid !

Either enjoy your phone or move on, this worrying about nothing is starting to get tirining!

    Woof!

What exactly does EOS mean? End of Service? I doubt that means the devices stop working as a whole.

BlackBerry is still selling these devices to companies and governments. I don't know if the phones will continue to get updates except for the ones promised which includes one in July/August 2016 and another early next year.

The devices should still work but the app support and such will continue to decline. If your looking for calls, messaging and Internet services than the BlackBerry 10 devices should provide some runway worth of work.

In my case I use the basic apps on BlackBerry World like news, sports, Bloomberg and banking for BMO. It does everything I need it for.

End of Support. Much like how BBOS 7 exists today. It's out there. The devices still work and people still use it but BlackBerry doesn't update it and doesn't really support it any longer. If something breaks down / stops working, don't expect a fix.

    PlayBook'd lol.

Exactly. And we're all familiar with BlackBerry timetables, so it'll be 2019 when they announce EOS and 2021 when they get around to making it happen.

I know for myself, I recognized that new devices were not coming, support was limited, and the devices would slowly stop working as well as they should. It was time to have a plan B and not let things get too bad. I like to be prepared so this type of information helps me plan.
