All I can say is, without a removable battery on our good old legacy devices, what would our lives have been???!!!

I don't remember the last time I've done a battery pull on my Z10 or when I had the Q10, which is very good. And the Z3 doesn't even have a removable battery. So maybe the first few OS10 phones were almost a test in a way, giving us the security of doing battery pulls if we needed to, but I don't think we need to (much). I can see all new BB10 devices having non-removable battery's in the coming future.

What's your suggestions? Removable battery or non-removable battery?

The Z10 I have NEEDS a removeable battery, otherwise I wouldn't be able to use it all day long. I constantly change the battery to provide more power.
With the Z30, since it is a larger capacity, it is not much of an issue.

As far as battery pulls, they are still done a bit no matter which device you have.

I love to have the option to remove my battery. That is all.

But then having a secure non-removal battery will remove possible loose battery issues, although needs to be ensured that it'll last a necessary amount of time.

With the Z30 I have not had to pull the battery. There are other ways to reset the phone. On the Z10 being able to change the battery is key as it is tiny.

I had Bold and now Q10... The devices last all day long and cover my needs...
The funny thing, the bold lasts even 4-5 days if I only use it for calendar, tasks, idle for incoming calls and not to surf the internet with it... When I set up auto on and off (7:30 on, 22:30 off), the Bold9900 lasts defenitely from Mon 7:30 to saturday morning... So it is a working horse!
Since day one, I never had to change the battery, it was never damaged.
So if the device is reliable and the battery is reliable, I have no problem with having a long lasting non removable battery!!
My only concern, is if that battery dies... have I then to throw the device away?? That would be really silly!!!

I like having the control and options to remove my battery and swap it, regardless of how good the battery life is. I have been on long travels where waiting for a battery to charge is not an option, especially in traveling overseas.

Non-removable is good because if your phone gets stolen, the person can't pull the battery and make it untraceable.

If BlackBerry can make it possible to turn on a BlackBerry remotely from BlackBerry Protect it will help them improve their whole marketing pitch of "most secure device"

3 years ago non-removable would have been completely unacceptable, but now, not so much. I carry a spare battery in my wallet for my Q-10, it needs it if I'm heavy using, but my wife and kids have the Z-30, and man, it doubles my Q-10 in life span. So the Z-30 with the BB Powerpack would be like carrying 4 batteries for my Q-10. Verdict, if future phones have a life span of the Z-30 or more, then the removable battery is no longer required.

I think with the infrastructure provided in most areas a removable battery is not a necessity anymore - especially because battery capacity is constantly increasing.

I still like the option but a unibody contributes a lot to design and makes the phone slimmer. I'd prefer that over a removable battery.

I travel to places it's not easy to charge the phone every night. Additionally in these remote places where the cell towers are not always easily accessed the battery gets used a lot quicker - even on a Z30. I've acquired a 13,000mah charger I take while travelling but even that isn't always enough. The option to change the battery is a big plus in my phones and most things being equal, I will always take the phone with the removable battery

    I'll prefer having a non-removable battery.
I have had to do a lot of battery pulls when I was still using the Z10(stl1) and this was because of caliberation issues.
Ever since, I dropped it and embrace my Z30, I have not thought of doing battery pull.
And like someone noted, if Blackberry can introduce the option of remotely locking your device when stolen, non-removable batteries would be preferred more.
And that is if it works when the phone is switched off.

If the battery is that good, regardless of the phone being used and if I can get a day or longer usage our of it with moderate to heavy use, I'm fine with a non removable. In the case of the Z10 though I'm glad it's removable as I just pop my spare in

I don't do battery pulls and don't recommend it. But I like the security of a spare battery in my bag if I need it. Given a choice I will avoid models with a permanent non-removable battery.

Doesn't hurt to have the option but if it has the battery life of the Z30 and Q10 then I'm not going to complain.

This debate should actually be renamed "Bigger capacity non-removable battery or smaller capacity non-removable battery that occasionally causes resets."
