Definitely the bold. thanks to os6 at least. not to mention theres a new curve coming out so it will be pointless in buying a curve unless you dont mind that.
In the long run, the Bold 9650 is the better choice. The specs are better and is OS 6 compatible. The 9650 will be one of the best BBs out when OS 6 comes. The 8530 is near the end of its life anyway. $120 doesn't seem that big of a price to pay for the big difference you will get with those two phones.

Depends on how you're using it. Do you need a no-frill basic messaging and calls, or do you want to be able to expand and add to the experience? The 9650 will be supported for a while, yet, 8530 will be replaced by 9330 very soon. Once it's EOL, it gets left behind pretty quickly.

Only you can decide if the extras on the bold are worth the extra cost.
For me I decided to go with the Curve and put the $120 in my pocket. Was the right thing for me at the time.
The Curve is a good phone too. Some people even prefer the keyboard on it to the Bold's. I wouldn't know as I haven't had the opportunity to compare them.
If you are eligble for an upgrade, why not do it through Amazon Wireless.com? I just got my new Bold 9650 for $79.99, no tax and no shipping charges. When it arrived, I activated it through normal Verizon process. Easy Peasy!
When I asked Verizon to match the price, they said they couldn't and they suggested I just do it via Amazon! So I did...
