Which model should I get?

I'm with Verizon.

well you are married to vzw already so that makes it a little easier
Second do you like touch or full keyboard?
Also would you perfer trackball or trackpad?

I think you should go to your local vzw store and test out a couple of the BBs and see what is going to be the best fit for you.

I just bought my first BB a couple weeks ago. I went with the 9700. I avoided the trackballs because I had seen my friends fall out. As for the touch screen, I know it would be filthy in know time, at least for me(looks over at iPod touch... yep, filthy). On the plus side, I've always found keyboards more reliable.

That's just my opinion though.

If you want a touchscreen, then a Storm2 is your best (and only, really) choice.

Otherwise, the 8530 is a great phone.

If you can hold out a bit, the Tour2 (Tour plus WiFi and a trackpad) is rumored to be out mid-February.

Regardless, you should head into the store and play with them and see what you think.

8530 is an "entry level" BB, Tour has all in one, or storm 2 for touchscreen. Its up to you as what you need and want out of a phone like physical keyboard, touchscreen, camera flash, etc..

8530 is a great entry-level BB, but if you want a bit more from your phone wait a bit and grab the Tour 2.

I went from two dumb phones and jumped head first into smartphones with my 9700 the trackpad is great, no worries about the trackball get stuck or dirty.

My 2 cents your mileage may vary.....

At this point, Tour 2 soon releasing. Storm 2 or Curve 2. All Vzw BBs. Jump right in, you'll be happy you did. All depends on what you prefer. Trackpad? Touch screen?

8530 is a terrible choice. That phone is a phone with hardware from the 83XX, there is nothing new in that phone. Just go for the best Tour2 is coming out soon and just go for that. If you can afford that Tour2 get that if not get a 8530.

Any BB will be good. The os for all of them are relatively the same. Of course the newer os will have more features, but most of the controls are the same.

Trying not to sound snotty here, but no-one can really answer this for you. Just take the time to go to your local Verizon store and try 'em all, then make the decision! You might initialy buy the 8530, learn how to use a berry, and get frustrated that you didn't go with the Tour2 or Storm2!!
