BBM on Q10 with no BlackBerry service on carrier

I have a Q10 on 2Degrees in New Zealand. This carrier has never offered a Blackberry service. The phone works really well on 2Degrees apart from BBM. I thought I could get around this by installing the Android version of BBM from Google Play. However the latest APK just crashes on opening. I do not want to change carrier and so does anyone have access to a safe reliable BBM APK which will work on 10.3.2.2836 or any other suggestions as to how I can use BBM on this phone (off WiFi) and on this carrier.

You don't need a special blackberry plan for it. It's not like the older phones where you needed a special plan it's supposed to work without anything extra. Does your bbm work work WiFi?

Yes BBM does work perfectly over WiFi. 2Degrees does not have the required BlackBerry network link to allow BBM to work on BB10. Android and IOS versions off BBM do not use the NOC and therefore work perfectly on 2Degrees. BBM on BlackBerry 10 does use the NOC and therefore does not work.
