BBM does nothing differently than what is already out there

BBM Channels = Google + Communities, Facebook Pages
BBM Voice and Video = Hangouts, Skype, Facebook Messenger
BBM Cross Platform? = Hangouts, FB Messenger, Whatsapp, Skype, etc
BBM Music? = Google Music and Google All Access (spotify like)
BBM App intergration = Every major mobile OS..

I called this yesterday, that the "coming this summer" thing for cross platform BBM is not going to cut it...

BBM has good potential, but it won't be able to get through the forest of major players...

There's a lot of demand for BBM. You should've seen the many tweets people posted about having BBM on their iPhone's before they decided to have BBM go cross platform. Twitter must've had some impact on BlackBerry's deciding factor. All those you listed will probably loose users and some are already realizing it (i.e. WhatsApp).

Google does All that, and they only need to do it on their own platform.

iOS devices do much of that as well, especially when coupled with Facebook which is mostly all you need these days.

A lot of people are burnt out on the Social craze. It's why Google has to go to the lengths it does to grow it's Google+ user base.
