I have had a Droid X for months and never use flash. If I want to watch videos I just use youtube. Flash just makes the browser very sluggish so I always keep it disabled. There's really nothing on my phone I need flash for and I feel it's overhyped.

If you haven't seen flash on a mobile phone yet, youtube 'Android flash player' and see how you like it for yourselves. I honestly don't care for flash on my phone one bit.

As a Droid 2 user, I have Flash as well but I do use it somewhat regularly. Even though I have it set to not load flash content until I decide to, I still have the option of doing it. Having the choice to use it or not is the key for me IMO. Much more useful than not having the option at all...

I should mention I formerly used an 8330 and 9630 prior to the Droid 2.

Would it be nice, perhaps. Is it going to cost me more because it's chewing up a ton of data, then they can keep it.

Flash - I really don't need it since it just slows down what I'm trying to get to anyway.

Honestly, since I use my BB for more work related activities, I would like to see a Sun come out with a JRE versoin that would wotrk with OS6 and the Webkit browser. I have appliances I need to manage that require Java.

I don't need it at all because I never use it. When I use the internet on my phone I use it to find information, post on forums, etc. I never need flash on my phone. So even having an option to have it wouldn't matter to me.

For me, I feel BB should has the ability to install Flash.

I think this will be great. I know couple of times my friends posted videos on FB and I just couldn't view as my phone don't have flash.

Kinda turn down especially when I am trying to waste my time waiting for transit or at a long queue at the mall.

You don't need flash to do that.

Not essential for me, I don't think I'd really use it. I don't use my browser for much other than reading some headlines, getting on CB, small stuff like that. The addition of Flash would just slow things down IMO. I mean, I guess it would be alright if they were to add it, but it would have to be an option that could be disabled.

Not essential, but I'd like to have the option to use it--something Herr Job's customers don't have the privilege of doing.

As a former Blackberry owner, i didn't want flash. Didn't really see a need for it.

As early gen Android owner, i didn't want flash. Didn't really see a need for it.

As a newer gen Android Owner, I do have flash, and it works seamlessly on my phone. Doesn't make the browser sluggish or slower in the least. I like it, it's nice to watch some TV shows on, and view work related training videos while i am doing what ever. Would i want to go without flash now that i have used it. No i think i want to keep it.

This is why people create mobile versions of their websites: because Flash sucks on mobile devices.

It seems like people are trying to use their smartphone as a replacement to their desktop/laptop.

There really isn't any REAL reason why people need Flash for mobile devices. No actual information is ever in Flash.

Why do people create m.______.com websites????
Because blackberries don't have a native browser that can handle full websites.

That's funny i use my phone for work related stuff all the time, and all of our online catalogs are Flash based.

THERE IS REAL INFORMATION HELD WITHIN FLASH

You do know that BlackBerry is not the only platform that doesn't support Flash, right? Or is your Android device so far up your arse that you don't understand that?

Your company's website probably sucks (from a design standpoint). No offense intended. When I envision an online catalog that's Flash based, I picture a site that is not so user friendly. Flash this, Flash that, wait for loading. I've been in web design since I was about 13 and even back then I wouldn't have ever designed a site, especially an online catalog, in Flash. No commerce site should be in Flash. Ever!

What REAL information is in Flash? And why do you have to go to your company's website?

Yes sir you are correct my phone is so far up my that when it vibrates my ears wiggle.

And i never said it was MY companies web site. I am a imported auto specialist and the sites that we use, that are supplied by are vendors are flash based. And they are smooth as butter and very well done. The only thing our company uses flash for is our training videos. That's really about it.

And yes i am well aware that Android is not the only sole platform to use flash iOS has Skyfire to kick flash into QuickTime, and WinMo has Skyfire to kick Flash into a light FLV file. Like i've said before i've owned iOS, WinMo, BBOS, and Android... i'm pretty familiar with the various platforms. In-Fact i dual booted my TouchPro2 with WinMo 6.5 and Android 1.6.

My mistake. You said for your job... the catalog was in Flash.

As for the training videos, what program/player is being used for the Flash videos to play? Or are they embedded in a website?

They are embedded. Log-In required and they track what you've watched and if there is a "quiz" at the end they track the scoring... Not 100% sure of the protocol that they use.

Syborg, flash works pretty well on Android but it DOES make navigating on webpages slow and sluggish. It's the reason why many ppl keep it disabled. There are hundreds of reviews that agree with me.

I don't like.flash on my phone. It's not a replacement computer like people are trying to make it. It's more of a complementary device.
