would a corrupt memory card make my handset keep restarting itself? it didn't affect my previous handset (Bold 9700).

yes it can. easy test. remove the card and see if the phone boots.
if it does, connect the card to a computer and scan it. Let windows repair the errors.

i replaced the card last night and it hasn't done it so far today. i haven't any ways of connecting it to my pc (no adaptor and an old pc) so i cant test it sadly. thanks for the response though.
