Anyone know of an on-site or online repair training company where a person can learn how to repair various models of BB?

hmm I would say providers may offer it to techs, if not getting a job at RIM would work as well.

Here's a possible option for UK folk from a specialist firm that itself repairs Blackberrys, cell phones, iPhones, GPS units etc etc.

    From their website:

Mobile Phone Repairs offer a one or two day mobile phone repair course. Bespoke training courses provided upon request.

    Fault diagnosis
Take apart and put together mobile phones.
Various fault repairs (speaker, mic, charging block)
Soldering methods tought and soldering repairs undertaken
    Liquid damage repairs
Software solutions tought and diagnoses of software issues tought
    Mobile phone unlocking is tought
Anything else that you may find important in running your business

We import and sell wholesale spare parts and accessories so have a full support network for your repairs once you complete the course. We also offer a wholesale repair service, so the repairs you cannot do we will do on a wholesale basis for you.

You could buy broken phones from ebay and try fixing them by trial and error. Most BB repairs are fairly simple
