BB Plan/allowance if I use differrent phone.

I have just been given a brand new Palm Pre. I'm just testing it out at the moment but I was wondering what happens to my email/internet allowance if I use my 8900 BB sim in the Palm pre?

Is your allowance plan phone or sim specific?

I did the same on a bberry from an iphone. i was able to get data so surf the web and stuff. Naturally, the bberry native applications did not work but the allownce did not change.

every smartphone has the basic internet plan which connects through TCP/Ip or whatever.

blackberry uses a separate connection to the blackberry servers.

if you stay on your blackberry plan, you can still use the palm pre without any problems at all because as far as i know the palm pre doesnt have any palm related services which require a specific data plan.

but once u go on regular data plan without blackberry service, you can use your palm pre but not blackberry. Well it will work but not have email, or bbm, etc.
