bb with internet
Does anyone know if you have to have internet to be able to make the blackberry work? I just bought one but don't want the itnternet but my blue tooth seems not to be working and then I bought a ringtone off of att and I can't seem to find it. So I was wondering if I had to have all of that to make it work?

You don't have to have a BB data plan to use a BB, but you of course can't utilize anything that needs to connect to the net.

what about getting stuff downloaded to the phone? Like ringtones and pictures?

Sorry, you aren't gonna be able to do that with out a data plan.

That is untrue even though I have the dataplan. You can load multimedia through the desktop manager in the media section.

That's correct... you can load in *.alx files through your desktop manager, and in certain models, i.e. a 8310 with a micro SD card, you can even enable mass media mode and transfer *.jar and *.jad files to the card... explore the card using file explorer function of media icon and "download" it (doing it this way "fools" the bb into thinking it';s dl'ing it when it's not, it's installing straight off the card).
Note, you may have to put ringtones, etc. into the correct folder in your blackberry's directory in order for those to work.
