    Hey guys,

I am a new bb user and just got OS 6. Up in the top right hand corner right under the 3G symbol and signal strength icons and next to the wifi, there is an icon that is just 4 dots slanted diagnoally kind of. It kind of looks like a mini-blackberry menu key icon. Does anyone know what this means?

It means you're connected to Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). Its a mini version of the BB logo.

That BlackBerry logo indicates that you're connected to a RIM/BlackBerry Data Plan, either BIS or BES.

I have a Bold 9780 - why is it the BB icon only appears when my phone is connected via 3G, not EDGE or GPRS?

I think it is reception based. Although, I travelled about 5 hours inland to the middle of nowhere in AUst yesterday, my BB bold did excellent, had that symbol on all day when previously I don't get reception in some remote places.

I think it has something to do with notifications, the messenger, etc
