okay guys, my blackberry curve 8520 yesterday when restarting came up with the "restore software 552" error thing, so i followed blackberry's instructions and redid my software and shizzle, but now i have OS 4.6, and when i plug my phone into the deivce manager it hasnt got an OS above that, when im sure i was running OS 5.0 before

Don't know what actually happened with your device... Remove the 4.6 OS from pc, download the latest 5.0 OS and load it on the device. Just remember to delete the vendor.xml file...
