Garmin has a one-time device fee. You don't have to pay a monthly fee, just pay once and you can use it for as long as you have that device.
Nav4All is curently free. It uses arrows instead of aps, but provides turn-by-tun voice directions.
I love that some I had misinformation kicking around in my skull... Thanks definitely good to know!
