Has anyone else noticed that when you browse around in the AppWorld it will eventually slow the phone down to a crawl? I checked status and my memory drops 30 MB (!!) after less than 5 minutes of browsing. The only way to regain the memory is to do a battery pull. This is quite annoying since the phone takes about 10 minutes (feels like it, at least) to reboot.
I noticed that. Looking at featured software alone dropped my memory by 5 meg! I won't be on it all the time and do regular clean up anyway. But it is a bit of a hog!
I dubbed it "Oink world" lol

Yep...it made my phone slow down. I uninstalled it. I really don't need the app world installed on my phone anyway. I'm not looking for apps 24/7, so I don't see the point.
There is a new version (1.0.0.27) that is out now and it is handling memory a lot better. I left it open and was searching through the lists and when I checked my app memory it only dropped 6 MB. With the previous version it would be down about 23 MB in the same time.

Yes I noticed it also, once I loaded app world, my phone dropped down to 13mb How in the world is there already a newer version out? How does someone check what version they may have?
hmmmm, I read this thread, so I fired up app world, scrolled through every file and area in the application, let it sit in the background for over an hour, and I dropped like 3 meg of memory, then when I closed it I gained 2 back.
This is the original version too, not sure if I'm just lucky or what. I was ready to delete and reinstall the newer version, but I really don't see a need to atm, I will never scroll through the whole thing like that again at one time.
You can check what version you have by going to options/advanced options/applications, then just look @ blackberry app world. Im running 1.0.0.26...lol How do you update?
.27 slows my phone to a crawl. Went from 48.4MB to 21.7MB in the 15 minutes or so i've been using it. I'll try it on the 8900 see if i get the same issues.
I deleted the things I didn't want like password keeper.... I delete my phone logs, sms messages, close out of applications properly.. Things of that nature..
Now I know I'm not the only one with issues since app world.
Running 1.0.0.26, dnld the appworld desktop launcher, capture it, and a car and driver app ( i need a new car).
Since then, web browser is PAINFULLY slow...3 - 10 minutes to load a page every time.
Will try batt pull and deleting apps one by one to find the culprit.
